03 — Discover Amed
Where the volcano meets the reef.
Amed is a string of seven fishing villages on Bali’s north-east coast, watched over by Mount Agung. Jukung outriggers line the black-sand beaches; beneath them lies one of Bali’s richest underwater playgrounds.
Water stays between 27 and 30 °C all year, and the Amed–Tulamben coast is often sheltered from the seasonal weather that affects other parts of Bali. Most sites are reached from the shore within minutes.
